Plarium Ukraine is looking for a talented Game Designer to join our Action Games Department, which is currently developing Mech Arena, a third-person MMO shooter. You can check out the game here: iOS, Android.
The successful applicant will join the Game Design Team, which consists of five people. The team’s tasks include creating the rules that govern how Mechs and weapons behave in-game, inventing new game modes, and developing mechanics for the metagame and player progression. Among the challenges the team faces is adapting game mechanics from the action-shooter genre for mobile.
To support decision-making in their work, the team uses analytical data and draws upon Plarium’s 13 years of game development experience. Our game designers also collaborate with monetization, development, testing, and UX teams.
The successful applicant will be able to work at our Lviv office and remotely in Ukraine or Poland.
Designing new game mechanics and systems
Creating designs for new game modes
Conducting game tests, and analyzing test results
Improving game mechanics and components using analytical data and personal game design experience
Working with marketing teams to manage in-game user acquisition integrations
Participating in discussions about new Mechs and weapons
Playtesting early prototypes of new maps and new features
At least 2 years of relevant work experience
Familiarity with games in the action-shooter genre
Experience in describing requirements for new functionality in Game Design Document format
Ability to present information in a concise and well-structured way (both orally and in writing)
Understanding of the principles of systems design
Experience in creating game balance documents in Google Sheets/Excel
Understanding of the principles of design thinking (desirability, feasibility, viability, double diamond
The ability to use analytical data in design decisions
English language skills at the intermediate level or higher
Experience working in the action-shooter genre
Experience with Confluence, Notion, Coda or similar systems
Skills in working with Adobe XD, Figma, or similar tools
Experience with Unity
