About the department:

Plarium is an international company developing mobile, browser, and social games. Over a thousand employees of our studios create unique projects that challenge gamers from all over the globe.

We are looking for a talented Data Engineer who can effectively solve difficult tasks at a fixed time. Join us and become the hero of game development!

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop distributed systems of data collection and processing

  • Analyze performance, scale existing systems according to the increasing load

  • Develop and elaborate architecture, choose optimal technologies and methodologies

  • Elaborate a family of internal API and frameworks

What we expect:

  • Knowledge of Scala or Java

  • Understanding of current trends in the IT and big data fields

  • Experience with NoSQL solutions: Elasticsearch, MongoDB, etc.

  • Experience of using Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (bash and others) and experience of using them in analytics and automation

  • Experience with Linux-like operating systems

  • Ability to read and refactor other people's code

  • Good knowledge of algorithmics and understanding of mathematical statistics principles

  • Ambitiousness, willingness to develop in the big data field

Desired:

  • Knowledge in machine learning field, understanding of modeling methodology and model quality assessment metrics

  • Knowledge of the Python scripting language and experience of using it in analytics and automation

  • Experience of using R or Python for data mining

  • Experience of using JVM languages
