Plarium Ukraine is looking for a talented AI Game Designer to join our Action Games Department, which is currently developing Mech Arena, a third-person MMO shooter. You can check out the game here on iOS and Android.

As the leading AI designer on the project, your main tasks will be the development of a bot behavior system, participation in game playtests, as well as coming up with other design ideas. You will join the Game Design Team whose tasks include creating the rules that govern how Mechs and Weapons behave in-game, inventing new game modes, and developing mechanics for the metagame and player progression.

The successful applicant will be able to work at our Lviv office and remotely in Ukraine or Poland.


  • Controlling the development of AI behavior systems

  • Collaborating with other Game Designers on the design of Mechs and Weapons

  • Working with Level Designers to create an immersive gaming experience

  • Taking part in game playtests, improving new prototypes and existing designs

  • Collaborating on new design ideas with the Product Manager, Game Design leads, and Analytics leads

What we expect

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Game Designer

  • Experience working on at least one game that has been released

  • Understanding of the factors that influence player engagement and retention

  • Ability to influence the behavioral patterns of players and track results

  • Proactive approach and the ability to come up with new ideas

  • Ability to present ideas and proposals in a well-reasoned and complete manner

  • Extensive gaming knowledge of action/shooter games

  • English-language skills at the intermediate level or higher


  • Knowledge of any scripting languages

  • Experience developing AI characters for action/shooter games

  • Experience as a game designer on action, shooter or online multiplayer projects

  • Game system design experience
