About the department:

Plarium is a multinational software development company specializing in mobile and browser games. We have studios in Tel Aviv, San Francisco, Michigan, Krasnodar, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Odessa. Our games are currently played by 400 million users across 150 countries.

Plarium’s new studio in Kyiv+Barcelona is looking for an experienced and talented Lead Game Designer to whom we can entrust the game design direction of our new experimental midcore PvP project.

Responsibilities:

  • Defining the vision and direction for the new game

  • Building and leading the Game Design team (Barcelona)

  • Brainstorming and discussing ideas, creating concepts for game mechanics and features

  • Defining game mechanics, economics, progression and monetization systems

  • Crafting the balance of the metagame and battle system

  • Creating and maintaining the game design documentation

  • Communicating with the development and art teams

  • Playtesting early versions of the game, adjusting UX and balance

  • Analyzing stats, constantly improving the game from soft launch to world-wide and post-launch

What we expect:

  • 7+ years of Game Design experience with at least 3 years in mobile games

  • Produce creative ideas that fit within the vision of the game

  • Well-versed in the relevant analytics and data-driven decision making

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the current mobile game market, both casual and mid-core games

  • Working knowledge of monetization tools used in mobile games, as well as experience introducing them

  • Past work on a successful mobile title(s)

  • Knowledge of advanced mathematics, especially probability theory and game theory

  • Highly organized, analytical, with good management and planning skills

  • Team player, with good flexibility

  • English – must have

Desired:

  • Knowledge of programming languages, especially C#

  • Russian or Ukrainian spoken language
